A headline from today’s New York Post: “P.K. Subban is a sniper that will bother the Rangers.”
This is in reference to Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban, a superb scorer and agitator who gave the Boston Bruins fits during their seven game slugfest. The Canadiens and New York Rangers begin play in their NHL Eastern Conference final series tomorrow afternoon in Montreal.
However, the headline is grammatically incorrect. It should read as follows: “P.K. Subban is a ‘sniper’ who will bother the Rangers.” Subban is a person, not an inanimate object.
