During their heated exchange over Benghazi last night on Fox News, former National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor referred to reporter Brett Baier as “Dude.” For a moment, I thought I was listening to teenage surfer-dude Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) addressing history teacher Mr. Hand (Ray Walston) in the 1982 movie “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”
It was clear that anchor Brett Baier (who fired back by calling Vietor “Dude”) was the adult in the room, with the former NSC spokesman being the child. I am always amazed by the differences between “adults.” Some act like big babies, others act wise beyond their years. It’s easy to tell the difference. As I get older, it’s easier to tell every day.
