“CCD”

When I was growing up in Putnam, CT, our Catholic religious education classes were known by the abbreviation “CCD” (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine).

Today, the first Friday after the conclusion of Lent, Catholics can once again enjoy meat. Thus, I am calling Friday April 25 “Catholic Carnivore Day” — or “CCD.”
